Derek K. Nielsen's Dortia Series "On Monday the 13th of February 2006 the term Fractal Field Painting came to me in a moment of inspiration to categorize paintings that consist of pure analog fractals. The word analog is used to differentiate between hand created fractals and digital or computer created fractals. Of course I am not the first to paint pure fractals for Pollock had done that fifty years earlier, but I am the first, that I am aware of, to make a career out of painting nothing but fractals." - Nielsen
