"From 1998 to 2004 I never used black in any of my paintings. This was the very last one, painted in December 1997. In 2005 I started using black again to acheive the darker browns of Healing Seven, Incubation and History Bubbles. When light shines brighter darkness must give way, but sometimes not without turbulence. This painting was also my last to use white over the gesso." - Nielsen
