Chaos Art "Chaos" is a mathematical concept in non-linear dynamics for systems that vary according to precise deterministic laws but appear to behave in random fashion. (from James A. Yorke at Maryland) The weather would be an excellent example of this. Chaos Art purposefully portrays nonlinear systems through artistic means. Nielsen uses acrylic paint on particleboard called Masonite to describe theoretical nonlinear systems of nonlocal energy. Within each of Nielsen’s paintings there exists several kinds of fractals. In the painting, The Message, there are at least three. Can you see them and differentiate between them? As you surf the gallery of this site see if you can see the many types of fractals in each painting.
